"The Sound of Twelve" (commonly abbreviated to So12) is the latest release from Wayne Lytle, having been written as a sort of counterpart to the yet-to-be-completed Animusic 3, with most Kickstarter tier's receiving the album as a backer reward. While it has met warm reception among fans, it has been frequently cited as the primary factor for Animusic 3's release delay.

From the So12 Bandcamp page: "Along the journey to create the next Animusic DVD, Wayne began to sense an imbalance in juggling his time and focus between music, animation, and software. Perhaps he had it backwards? So he made a concerted effort to 're-establish music as the backbone of Animusic'. The fruit is this album...the soundtrack of his personal battle, if you will.

Initially a vehicle for producing music completely free of any thoughts of animation, over time it began to incorporate some sonic patterns that were 'not necessarily totally unrelated to Animusic'."

Purchasing

After the official Animusic Online Store's demise in 2019, purchasing this album is one of the few remaining ways to financially support Wayne Lytle. While physical copies are no longer available to purchase, it can still be downloaded digitally. It is strongly recommended that if you do wish to purchase it to do so via Bandcamp. Not only does a higher percentage of the money go to Animusic (100% on Bandcamp Fridays), but it is both cheaper and higher quality.

Here are places you can purchase it digitally:

Bandcamp (BEST PLACE TO BUY)

Amazon

iTunes Store

If you just NEED to listen to it for free, then use the official Youtube Music upload.

          • Several track names differ from the final release: Trimensional Battle is called "Dimensional Battles", Polyannagon is called "Polyanagon", "Victory over Urgency" is called "Tyranny of Urgency". Additionally, the track art for "Dimensional Battles" suggests the track was originally titled "Worlds and Swords"

          • The final version that was released on Bandcamp, Amazon, iTunes and Google Play

        • Final CD Mix

          • There are several differences between the mix on the CD and the Mix released on Digital platforms:

            1. On the CD Mix, My King and Symphonica flow into each other, while on the digital release, there's a noticeable stop between tracks.

            2. On the CD Mix, Echokrunch and Fruitful Visions have extended outros, making them a couple of seconds longer than the digital releases.
