Special Edition (2004)

"Animusic" (2001) is the first video album release from Animusic, containing seven completely different computer-generated 3D music animations. Bolstered by the success of the animation "Pipe Dream" and the initial VHS/DVD campaign, a CD album containing three new bonus tracks was released, followed by the 2004 Special Edition DVD, which included special features and a brand new 5.1 Surround Sound mix.

TRACKLIST:

  1. Future Retro

  2. Stick Figures

  3. Aqua Harp

  4. Drum Machine

  5. Seventh Alloy (CD Bonus Track Only)

  6. Pipe Dream

  7. Acoustic Curves

  8. A Slight Delay (CD Bonus Track Only)

  9. The Harvester (CD Bonus Track Only)

  10. Harmonic Voltage

Differences between the Original Release and Special Edition:

  • Several bonuses were added to the Special Edition, such as a Stage Construction for each track, Widescreen version of Pipe Dream, Beyond the Walls, an Animusic 2 sneak peak, 5.1 Surround sound, and an option to turn on titles for each track.

  • The Special Edition has fully animated menus, while the standard edition has a single static menu screen.

  • For the special edition, the packaging was redone, and a booklet was added.

  • In the Special Edition, the "Development Stills" were renamed to "Art Development", and additional material was added, such as scans of early sketches and wireframes of models. However, the standard edition had title cards for each set of still, which the special edition lacks.

  • In the solo cams for Acoustic Curves, there are only 2 solo cams in the standard edition, as opposed to 3 in the Special Edition.

  • The commentary was edited on the special edition to remove a mistake Wayne made during "Acoustic Curves" (Wayne incorrectly refers to DAT as "Digital Analog Tape"). An additional section of commentary was also added that plays over the credits.

  • In the standard version, the solo cams for Drum Machine show a handful of frames at the beginning of the video that reads "these frames are BEFORE the encode range". This was fixed for the Special Edition. (Click here for higher resolution)
