Stick Figures is the 2nd track from the video album “Animusic” (2001). The track was originally written by Wayne Lytle in 1995 for inclusion on a MIDI-based audio album, and was not intended for animation.

ERRORS

  • The middle violin suddenly shifts at 2:27 and again at 2:30

  • The guitar’s fingers pass through each other at 3:05 (absent in the solo cam)

  • The guitar’s headstock position shifts hard at 1:44 (absent in the solo cam)

  • The laser sounds at 4:35 before it is visibly played at 4:37

2000 PROTOTYPE

A prototype version of Stick Figures titled “Stick Figures: A Virtual Concert” was presented at the 2000 SIGGRAPH convention on July 23, 2000 and included on SIGGRAPH Video Issue 137. This version differs from the final animation in multiple ways, including (but not limited to):

  • Almost entirely different camera angles and movements

  • Different sounds and mixing

  • No wear textures on the drum heads

  • Different tuning on the bowed Cello string

  • An extended outro section

  • The resting position of the Metallophone’s mallets is different
